This sequel to an amazing game is fun, but not much has been added.

Gears of War is one of my favorite Xbox 360 games to date. The intense Campaign mode and addictive multiplayer were awesome. I was looking forward to Gears 2, and I did get a very fun gaming experience. The campaign picks up after the Locust horde had thought to have been defeated, but a group of them survived and multiplied. I personally thought that this plot was weak and could have been more creative, but despite this, the campaign was still fun. The intense firefights between the locusts an the character's senses of humor made the campaign a fun playthrough. However, it was very similar to the original game.

The graphics and sound are top notch. The blood and gore effects are very graphic (and awesome). The controls also work well most of the time, but I found them to be non-responsive sometimes. The cover mechanic works well, but it didn't always respond and it got me killed several times.

The multiplayer is a fun addition to the game. The wide array of new and awesome weapons make the multiplayer fun. Guardian, Submission, and Execution were my favorite online game types. The new Horde mode, where you fight to Survive the Locust Horde wave after wave, if fun and intense. However, the multiplayer has many problems. The connection in many of my games suffered, and leading to lots of lagging issues. It also takes a very long time to find other players and to load, and if you leave a match, you lose 1500 exp points! Basically, you have to have a lot of time on your hands for online multiplayer.

What mainly brought this game down was the lack of new features. The only main differences from the original game is Horde mode. Sure, the gameplay is fun, but there could have been more new features and multiplayer content. I feel like I am playing the same game with new maps!

Gears 2 is a fun game that I reccomend to anyone who enjoyed Gears 1. If not, then hardocre gamers should give this game a try. Newcomers will enjoy this game more than veterans of the original Gears due to the fact that the games are nearly the same. Overall, Gears 2 is an amazing game, but not perfect.
