While this is a solid game and a respectable sequel it pales in comparison to the original game. The campaign mode will leave you feeling like something was missing. Gears 2 doesnt have that same epic feel that Gears 1 had, maybe it was that near impossable boss fight with RAAM on insane that set the scale so high that gears 2 couldnt live up to. The battle with scorge is a let down as all it is really is a button bash with no tactics really neaded in the first round with the revaer battle being slightly challenging. The multiplayer has been greatly improved however and builds on the originals with now up to 10 players a team, AI players, Horde mode and a large variety of game types. Te game will please many who liked the first game but wont really be converting those who had issues with the first unless it was the multiplayer that set put you off
