Gears 3 is more of the same from the series
Difficulty wise the game was very easy, even on hard. Only once through the whole game did I ever remotely suffer for ammo. Having 3 invincible buddies with you at all times means you can overwhelm your opponents, and someone is always close by to revive you. I understand the decision was made to support 4 player co op, but I enjoyed the smaller squads from earlier games. Also the boss fights were not very hard, only occasionally resulting in a death if you take too long in a particular phase.
Multiplayer is fun as always, I enjoy the various modes, horde and beast mode are fun and scale up nicely, and of course they are hundreds of levels, ribbons, etc to achieve, as has become the norm for multiplayer post Modern Warfare.
In the end Gears 3 feels like more Gears 1 and 2. Not that that is a bad thing mind you, but it just has the feeling that I have already been there, done that. But for fans of the series or 3rd person shooters, I recommend the game.
