One of the best games I have ever played!
First of all, lets talk about the most important parts of any game. Fun and gameplay. The single-button cover system was a staple to gameplay in Gears and it really did make for an amazingly fun game. If you aren't hiding behind cover in Gears you are basically dead. The Locust has great AI and will tear you apart if you are running around unprotected in the front lines. The other awesome part of this game is the tech. The graphics are amazing! Epic did a great job bringing the gloomy setting to life. The lighting effects are fantastic and the framerate is steady. One last detail that made Gears great is the weapons. One weapon in particular that everybody knows about is the Lancer. Having a chainsaw mounted on a machine gun is pretty much shooter Nirvana lol. The one knock that anyone had on Gears is that the story was not very in depth. This is true, but for a game that prides itself on fun and action it doesn't really detract from this great shooter. So to sum things up Gears of War is a crazy good game that anyone who is remotely interested in shooters should give a good look.
