The GOW series will bring many people to the XBOX 360 and will have a lot to offer.

The game is just awsome. The game has smooth frame rates and it is actually fun to play. The graphics are good and it's campaign is relativaly long. The multiplayer is somthing I could play for hours. Not much more that could be said, other than anyone who owns an 360, should and must buy this game because it has so much to offer. This game met and exceeded my expectations on almost every level. The graphics, sound, and gameplay are absolutley amazing. I didn't know 3rd person shooters could be this fun. Halo had me spoiled on the idea that all shooters needed to be first person to enjoy them, but GOW has forever changed that opinion. This is a game of hide and kill. If you like to run and gun, you'll find yourself dead more often than not. Cover is key to success in GOW. You also need to take some time to learn how to manipulate cover to defeat your enemies. I played the "casual" setting of the campaign mode for almost 30 minutes so I could get used to the gameplay mechanics and how to use the A button (which is pretty much the "cover" button) efficiently. The "active reload" system is a very nice touch. I love the option of playing co-op campaign via XBL. This definitely gives the game some major replay value. This is also a game that should be experienced in HD and digital surround sound, because it adds so much to the gameplay (I have a 106" widescreen with a 9.1 digital surround system and it feels like I'm IN the game!). The amount of gory detail there is in ripping someone apart with the chainsaw bayonet or a sniper headshot or a grenade melee would impress even a surgeon. The only disappointment (and trust me, it's very minor) is in the multiplayer mode. Each of the 10 maps are very unique and created with the same stunning detail as the campaign environments, but why only 4 person teams and 3 gametypes?? I don't know if the game was so rushed toward the end that they sacrificed some things in the multiplayer mode, but it could definitely use a little more work. The multiplayer is even more exciting than the campaign, but it would be even more fun with larger teams...say like 12 people per team (like COD3's multiplayer). Mixing in a wider variety of gametypes like CTF, territories, multi-team, etc (like Halo's multiplayer) would definitely contribute to GOW's replay value. As it stands now, 3 gametypes will get repetitive and eventually wear thin quickly. I'm hoping that future downloadable content (more maps and new gametypes) will compensate for these small shortcomings in one of the greatest XBox360 games to date. For anyone who owns a 360, this is a MUST own game!
