This review may be a bit late, but Gears of War is still one of the top multiplayer games in the world. People everywhere cannot get enough of the amazing fun achieved by shotgunning an enemy into multiple chunks, the sound of a chainsaw being revved behind an opponents back, that clutch one on three that became manageable with the help of a boomshot. Many ideal situations like this make GoW the ideal game on the Xbox 360. The graphics, to begin with, are fantastic. They amaze to the point of the sweat dripping down the faces of the Cog, to the wrinkles and war scars on the faces of the savage Locusts. Maps have been designed very well, small as well as comprehendable, and make sure that the last struggling enemy doesn't have many places to hide. However, that applies to the online multiplayer, but now to the incredibly involved storyline. I won't immediately go into explaining the dilemma and purpose of the struggle of the Cog, why they're fighting these Locusts, or what happens at any point. Instead, trust me when I say that the Gears of War single-player and co-op experience is one-of-a-kind. You and a friend can tear some of those ugly bamfs up real quick with the right teamwork and cooperation, yet at the same time a constant voice chat that works great, and clear. Everything is more fun with a friend in this game, and with great audio and some terrifying visuals at times, this game will attempt to surprise anyone at any given moment. If you don't own GoW at this point, don't be shy to go pick it up cheap. This title is well worth the money and there are plenty of people still playing the game. Rev that chainsaw, and be proud to play Gears. =)
