This game will absolutely blow your mind

User Rating: 9.6 | Gears of War X360
As almost everybody knows Gears of War is a third-person action game that focuses a lot on finding cover, shooting aliens, and doing it with a ridiculous amount of violence. Gameplay- The gameplay in GOW focuses a lot on finding cover which gives it a more realistic vibe as oppose to running in circles and jumping around your enemies. The controls were appropriatly tight and I usually had a sense of absolute control. The pacing is also great. You will find yourself at one moment shooting dudes, to hoping on turrents, to driving vehicles and each aspect of the game is done very well. Also having an appropriate amount of checkpoints helps too especially since this game can be extremly difficult at times. My advice to people who first play this game try it on the "casual setting" first because there were times I wanted to throw my controler at the screen when doing the "hardcore" mode. That said the gameplay is extremly fun and should please any action game fan.

Graphics- Ah yes the graphics. This game looks absolutely amazing. Even on my 480p TV this game is a beautiful thing. The particle effects look amazing the character models look appropriately gritty. The monsters are scarier than ever and the enviorments might just put a tear in your eye. Oh yeah did I mention the insane amount of blood in this game. Luckily if your the squimish type you can tone down the blood a bit, but the blood just comes out in fountains. If you had any doubts about buying your 360 this game should put those doubts to rest.

Sound - This game has an excellent score that has a neo-classical feel to it and fits the game quite well. The voice acting is also top-notch with some very good peformences. The sound effects are crisp and realistic and it's an overall decent peformence in the sound department. Value- This game does have some great value to it especially if you're online. The single player can be a bit short, but the co-op should help make up for that in spades. The multi-player is also pretty good, but the game types remain to a minimum and the game ships with 10 maps. Still the game is worth the price and should hold a lot of fun for anyone who tries it.

Overall this game is extremely fun and bar none one of the best 360 games to come out this year. If you're looking for a game to get this holiday season GOW should be it.
