Gears of War is an overall amazing game. It manages to pack intense shooter action into a realistic atmosphere where you are not the bullet taking machine you are in other, less realistic, run and gun shooters. While the cover is an integral part of GoW, it doesn't hinder your progress through the game and doesn't make it any less intense. The Graphics are downright amazing and it has the perfect sound effects to match. While the game runs in a linear fashion, you wont be running around the level looking for the way to go often if at all. Any fan of shooters should buy this without question, and its also a great game for any fan of video games at all.
