It's about time the 360 got it's killer app.

Gears of War is by far one of the best games for X360, it's graphics are nailed down tight, from bump mapping to specular lighting, this game does it very well, very few lag points to what i noticed; more lag in actual cutscenes than in gameplay. Musical score was great, combining alittle rock/heavy metal with orchestral music to set the tone was a brilliant idea. The game was alittle short, i'll give it that, but play through this game on Insane and I can almost guarantee that the 7-10 hours of gameplay that it has on Normal can almost double. While on insane, you face lethal foes, numerous amounts, very accurate, limited ammo and you are lucky enough that health regenerates automatically or this game would just own you for a long time. Online multiplayer is also very addicting, especially the squad based action, where communicating with your buddies is very necessary. Flanking, positioning snipers and grenadiers all help in multiplayer, although going up and cutting someone down w/ a chainsaw while ur buddy is keeping them busy by shooting them is also very satisfying. All in all, Gears of War is a very exciting and satisfying game from single player to multiplayer this game does things very well, and some people say that this game doesn't do some things well, but I think it does, it reinvents what a squad based 3rd person shooter should be, from camera angles to ducking behind rocks, this game actually feels like a war. It's not a FPS where you strafe from left to right and jump to dodge bullets, you have to take cover, and if in a real situation, that's what you would really have to do. That's why this game is so good, it feels good, it controls well and it looks great, and i definitely recommend it to any Xbox 360 owner out there, if you have a 360 get Gears of War, you won't regret it.
