Gears of War puts the Xbox 360 into a whole new era of gaming!

User Rating: 9.4 | Gears of War X360
The Good:
Best graphics you can find on the 360, Level designs are very beautiful and unique, You've got a big arsenal of different weapons at your disposal, Co-op works very well, This game is amazingly fun and challenging online

The Bad:
There is almost no story what so ever, a few glitches, which can really disturb you when playing online, gameplay is the same the whole game throughout

Now that Gears of War has finaly been released, a lot of people probably buy this game, and ask themself 'Does this game really live up to it's incredible hype?'
Though, i can't answer for everyone in here, i can assure you, that this game is very, very good. Worth a 9.6? -Totally!

You play as Marcus Fenix, a COG soldier, who later teams up with delta squad, wich has to go look for Alpha squad. Not much happens to the story afterwards, but there will be some twists here and there.

Gameplay is the same thing through the whole game. The developers call it 'Stop N' Pop' wich means, that you stop behind cover, and pop out from it to get a hit at your enemy. It may sound quiet simple, and actually, it is, though there is a huge diffrence gameplay-wise between a person who has played the game for an hour, and a pro.
A thing they have included, is that reloading your weapon is a mini-game itself. When you reload, a small bar will appear in the upper right corner, and then you have the chance to push the reload button again at the right spot to reload faster and get a nice little damage bonus.

The graphics in this game is amazing! From the beautiful environments, to the detailed and smoothly animated characters. Unreal Engine 3 really shows what it can do in this game.

The sound is what you'd come to expect. Very nice sound effects wich fits the game very well. Music is also pretty tense at times, and the voice-acting is preformed well in a 'bad ass' style.

Because of all the achievements, this game has great replay value. You want to defeat the game on all three difficulties so that you can pick up all those massive piles of points. Also, the online play is a good reason to let the disc sit in your 360 for a long time to come.

Overall, this game realy did live up to it's hype in my opinion. Everything is just so perfect about it. The graphics are awesome, the online is superb, and the gameplay is so simple, yet you want to keep going on (Prince of Persia fans should know about this feeling).

Give it a go!
