Simply short of amazing, and a must have.

User Rating: 9.8 | Gears of War X360
Gears of War is by far the BEST game I have ever played. I bought the Collector's Edition seeing as how I missed out on the Halo 2 CE. It comes with a neat little book featuring concept art and a short description of what has happened on Sera (the planet it takes place on), as well as character and creature bios. The DVD it comes with isn't special but I can't really complain, although I was hoping the tin would be a bit smaller, during the purchase I picked it up and heard things shaking and rattling around in there (turns out the book has quite a bit of room to move around in).

Alright onto the game.

Graphics: Everyone saw the screenshots, trailers, and gameplay movies, but none of that can account for the graphics in the real game. I played it on a giant 46" HDTV with surround sound and wow is all you can really say.

Sound: The sound is very good as well, revving chainsaws, explosions, gritty voice acting all immerses you in a tremendous single player and multiplayer experience like none other.

Gameplay: All the hype is really on this, let me tell you it is superb. The best part is the weapons. My personal favorite has to be the Torque Bow, there is nothing better than shooting someone then 3 seconds later you hear a boom and see a head go flying 30 feet in the air, of course there is the chainsaw gun which deffinitely has it's great multiplayer moments. The Casual and Hardcore difficulties are definitely a lot easier than Insane, which you really need a friend for because lets just face it, you die to much and the AI isn't smart enough to really help you out. Most of the time they just blindfire and shoot at the occasional wall, doesn't really change the gameplay I don't really notice most of the time. Multiplayer is definitely where it's at right now, some of the most intense online stuff I've seen since I first played Halo 2 online.

Value: If you are into CE, pick this one up, comes in a nice sturdy tin with some cool stuff. If you aren't really into getting a game so it can come in a tin just go with a regular version of the game. $60-70 is still a bit pricey for a game but I don't really care, the game is easily worth $75.

Overall: If you have a 360 or plan on getting one, this is a definite must have for your collection and I'm sure will be very picked over this holiday season.
