By they start of the game you will notice a couple of things, this game looks really good. There is detail in almost everything. Another thing is the sound, the soundtrack is wonderful, along with brilliant gun effect and footsteps sounds. The camera angle is also very unique. You will notice the camera shake a little while runnig, and the camera angle nerver gets in the way. The storyline is a little on the dissapointing side. The story is basicaly you playing as Marcus Fenix.Marcus was arrested for ignoring his duties to save his father on "Imergence Day" which is a day the Locust made a surprise attack on the human, by coming out of Imergence holes around the world. At the first of the game you will be broken out of prison to join the army again. You are trying to locate some kind of underground builing, that will change the tide of the war, by blowing it up. The sad part is that, you never get really involved into the charecters, who could have turned out to be very liked. Instead the game focuses more on the action parts in the game. The story line has a surprising amount of replay value. I often found myself going back to find all 30 of these hidden COG tags(find all 30 and get an acheivement). Also playing Co-op which will also unlock you some acheivements by playing as the alternate charecter named DOM. During the story mode you will find many things that really set this game apart from any other shooters of its kind. The best part is the "Stop and Pop" playing style. This game is not made to run around shooting everything you see. It has a strategetic feature, that will force you to hide behind cover, and shoot, then get under cover again. Without covering you will find yourself dead in a matter of seconds. The developers made it very easy to get in and out of cover, all by using the A button. The A button will let you climb over cover, get cover, get out of cover and finaly crouch/run. All of these techniques can get very complex, since there are about 5 diffrent ways to can use them. It also helps that the animations while performing these moves are wonderfully done. The soundtrack is also very very cool. Its perfect to make it seem like an action movie. It is not rock but very intense and epic. Once you have finished the story mode, its time to crack open your XBL account and take your skills online. The online part of this game is my favorite since it is highly addicting and has many good things about it. You will be able to take all the great weapong from the story mode and use them against opponents on Live. There is a total of 8 weapons which are all increbidly satisfying. You probobly all know about the famous "chansaw Bayonet" Its a normal bayonet exept there its a freakin' chainsaw bayonet! It is almost to fun to pop around corners and saw an oppenent into many diffrent peices. It is also risky because people can always shoot you while you are in the process of using the bayonet. There is also the "Hammer of Dawn" which alows you to slice opponents with lazer things that come from the sky. Even if its you who is getting killed by these weapons, you still chuckle, because the amount of gore that comes out of you. There are 10 diffrent and awesome levels for online play. Each level has its own set of weapons and each has its own set of obsticles. They are perfect for 4 vs 4, and any more then 4 would make it seem kinda crowded, since the rounds usualy do not last that long anyways. I would recomment this game over the age of 18. This game will give you many hours and weeks of gameplay. Do not miss out on probobly the best game of the year thus far.
