Gears Of War redefines the typical shooter casts out of the cliche and delivers hard action with great graphics!

Time and Time again, you buy a shooter for Xbox 360 which is a majority of there line up, and they don't really differ from one another except for content meaning weapons, enemies, and level designs all differ; while the feel and gameplay looks exactly alike. Some games like Resident Evil, and Call of Duty, try and reinvent themselves which deserves much kudos, but other games will simply stay the same and change looks. Halo looks like Half-Life, which looks like Unreal which looks like Area 51 (the shooting one not the arcade machine with the guns); which looks like....and so forth. They all look the same. Not to say all thos games are bad. my opinion I love Half Life 2 can't stand Halo 3 which was so overrated and hyped and still is which is rediculous. Some Unreals are good but here's where Gears of War steps in and changes all that. If you were to make a hybrid of RE4 and another great game out there, that bastard love child would undoubtly be Gears of War. I don't know what Epic Studios did before this but they got it right. A whole new outlook is not always what you need and could be happy with the same ol' but Gears Of War gives me that tingle in my spine I so have been wanting. The game is like any other story with the raging clans of Locusts and Marines out to kick there ass for making a mess of the Earth. The locusts a race who thrives underground can basically pop up out of these holes in the ground anywhere they want to. Cover will be a great deal of help to you because these bad boy's don't play! Graphics are a huge. The sky, the landscape, the fine detail down to a T i tells you! A fregging T!! Something Halo on the 360 platform did not do at all and fan boys still love it; alas but I digress. No detail was left for granted. There is one level that if you step into the dark hovering birds above you will swoop down and kill you unless you can get into the light quick enough. I think this is a great concept and shows the huge potential that is involved right there knowing that alone go get this game. Sound is great, the conversations they have with each other are sometimes funny and really give a feel to what's going on. explosions are nice, and I don't have much more to cover on that. Head's coming off sounds like it for real, well what i think it would sound like. Gameplay is great. You get caught on walls taking cover alot or when you try to run you run into a wall and take cover instead but with practice. Reloading takes little practice and adds an element of realism, enemies react to you somewhat but are a challenge short range as they aren't so much long distance. Chainsaw on the machine gun instead of a melee hit with it like all the rest? Why don't mind if I do. Limbs come off and plenty of blood with it to compensate so the Gore is very very nice, not a crazy amount but believable when oozing out. All in all, if you don't have this game, get it, it is still one of the best games to date for any system. Campaign is lots of fun, multiplayer is really stressful, so get a tutor if you suck. But seriously a must have for any gamer!!!
