Gears of War really has a lot going for it. It has some of the best graphics for a shooter that I have seen to date. The dialogue in the game is very good. The weapons have a good variety. The chainsaw is awesome as long as you beat your enemy to the trigger. I have been on the wrong end of that so I can attest that it is a bad way to get your cap peeled. The enemies are decent as well. I love the berserkers because you need to use some strategy to take them out.

The game has very few negatives to it. I wish they would have built on the background of the characters and given us a bit of a deeper story...or at least revealed more of the story. I mean the story has some great potential to be awesome but they did not explain enough of it. I also would have liked some better vehicle controls because the driving is a bit annoying.

Overall the game is a very satisfying experience. I highly advise picking it up and I cannot wait to try Gears 2.
