This game is just great. Where to start... how bout with the gameplay. Gears easily has the best gameplay mechanics out there of any currently available game on any system. There is a nice mix of "run and gun" and "duck and cover" which is very appealing and helps balance the frustration factor. The coop system works great letting you blow away aliens with your buddy in split screen or on Xbox Live. I feel the length of the game is just about right. Considering the intensity of the gun battles, I think if it were any longer it would feel burdensome and be uninviting to repeat players. You don't have to ask yourself, "Do I really want to invest another 30 hours just to play it on the next difficulty level?" It really is easy to pick up and play again.
I don't have to even mention the graphics. Just check the videos.
My thoughts on the graphic content, there are quite a few swears of varying degrees. There are about 10-15 per act (5 acts total) with the degree pretty much split. The blood seems too cartoony to really bother me. Nothing of the Saving Private Ryan style. There are also about 7-10 "jump out at you" surprises.
This game is really a satisfying start to finish gun fest. Tons of ammo and tons of aliens to blow away. But don't forget to keep your head down. If you have a 360 you should seriously check this game out.
