Let's put it this way. If you own a 360 you need this game. The setting is nothing special: humans vs. vicious alien scum. But rather than go for the traditional first person shooter look, the game adopts an over the shoulder, third person viewpoint. While this inevitably means a few camera issues, the game comes out stronger with this view. Rather than a simple run and gun blaster, Gears asks that you use cover as much as possible. Most levels are simply about slowly gaining ground over the enemy and advancing forward. There are great multi-player options including story co-op which makes the story mode a bit too easy. It looks absolutely amazing too, easily one of best looking games ever made.
