It takes all we know about shooters and raises it to a higher level. It’s simply the best game of its genre.

This game looks amazing, but it is more than just pretty graphics. The sound is just as impressive, especially if you have a good surround sound system. I was sure that this game was over hyped and that I was going to be disappointed. Boy was I wrong. It’s actually difficult to explain. There’s nothing truly new or original about GOW. The story is the same old formula, (humans vs alien monsters) the duck and cover has been done before, giant bosses, (been there done that). The chainsaw, it’s cool, but there are plenty of games where you could chop people up with a chainsaw. So what makes GOW so good? Is it the graphics? I don’t think so. Take away the amazing graphics and the game will lose some of its appeal, but you would still have an amazing game. I think it’s the way that Epic put together all these elements that makes Gears so special. The use of the camera, their use of lighting effects the pacing of the game is all put together perfectly, and the incredible graphics are the icing on top. It takes all we know about shooters and raises it to a higher level. It’s simply the best game of its genre. The only problem I have with the game is how short it seemed. It was over too quickly. Of course there is on line play, but some people don’t have access to the Internet. All I can say to you if you are one of the unfortunate people is enjoy it while you can. This game will definitely leave wanting more, but that’s a good thing.
