It should be illegal to own a 360 and not have this game.

Before picking up this game, I was skeptical as to the quality and hype surrounding it--afraid it would become Brute Force 2 instead. I bought this game based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews form both the media and gamers alike and I have to say, it it definitely one of the best looking and innovative video games produced in years. The first chainsaw kill--sawing a Locust in half, watching blood splatter all over the screen, and chunks of his body exploding all over the ground is something you'll never forget. The controls are very tight, intuitive, and easy to learn. While some has expressed disdain over the extensive use of the 'A' button, I found it works very well and rarely gets me into trouble. The campaign, although short--on both length and story--is quite enjoyable, especially when done cooperatively. The multiplayer aspect of the game works almost exactly as it does in the campaign with the mechanics and (surprisingly) the visuals retaining the same quality across the board. Although far from perfect, the multiplayer is still an immensely enjoyable and addictive experience, save for a few flaws. The gametypes are restricted to three variations of team deathmatch. While fun, it feels as if the game should have been fleshed out with a bit more variety, with gametypes comparable to those of Halo 2. More customization of gametypes, starting weapons, map switching, and a party system would have helped immensely. One of the biggest failures of the game is the controversial "host advantage" problem which, more often than not, causes matches to be very lop-sided in favor of the host--a dark blemish on an otherwise stellar game. While not perfect, this game is a definite "Must Buy" for any Xbox 360 owner. If you don't own it, go buy it now! Right now! Seriously...do it!
