Gears of war may not be the first 3rd person shooter or in that case, any shooter to have incorporated active hiding and reloading into the game. It has definately set the bench mark for games on the 360. It has started a new type of gamplay where you can finally hide AND see whats behind you. The graphics in this game are pretty coool, somehow it sorta reminds me of unreal tournament though, i think its from all the blowing up. But you certainly know if youve gotten a headhost haha. The lancer is just such an awesome gun with its chainsaw and all, i wouldn't swap it for anything. The absolute BEST use of a chainsaw in any game =) even if you die its pretty cool haha. The boss type battles are pretty cool too, in a way that you will figure out what to do after a few trys and not have to look up a walkthrough and spoil it =P. Also the ABSOLUTE best multi player game, even better then halo 3 in my standards, it has awesome online game play, and the multi player game types are pretty cool with being in a team and all. I also find it pretty nifty being able to do the campaigne over xbl, although if the other player signs out it can be annoying. But i give this game a perfect ten because it had a well structured, fun to replay story line. Good game difficulty modes such as insane. Good smooth gampleay action and fire fight battles. You even have a break from foot with some cool vehicles. The sound effects (especially the chainsaw) and the sound tracks are good additions to the entertainment while your ripping up some unlucky locust. Although the AI is a bit weirdo haha but i guess being zombie type enemies there not all that smart. Also your team mates seem to get downed a fair bit. But thats all part of the fun!! So this game really packs alot of awesome movie type action into an awesome disc which will never be given a break from my 360. =) oh yea just thought it add, this game's story mode really is quite easy, i finished it on insane in 1 sitting. It would help if they went over the difficulties a bit more.
