WOW ...where do I even start? I'm sure you've read countless reviews on how amazing this game is and for all the right reason. Over hyped? Hardly. Overrated? NO WAY. Trust me here folks, no matter what genre of games you like, if you own a 360, you absolutely have to get this game. The games gameplay offers a very deep and immersive storyline, almost feels part of a movie. Story is separated into 5 acts, and granted, it's rather short on the single player side (I finished in about 8 hours on hardcore), the multiplayer really does cover up a lot of ground. This is where paying for Xbox Live really does pay off, I have not seen a better game to play on XBL since Halo and Gears of War, imo, is definitely better than Halo. Without a doubt, the absolute best graphics of any 360 game out yet. Graphics are picture perfect clean, flawless all the way to the very end. A few minor frame rate issues, especially throughout Act IV but nothing too serious. The short sequence movies played throughout and in between acts were truly breathtaking. The game isn't too deep on the music side, as your stuck with nearly the same type of music throughout the game. However, the roaring sounds of the berserker and locusts, to the constant cackling of guns, all make up a truly immersive game in the sound section. Doesn't hurt to have a surround sound hookup like I have either!. All in all, what a wonderful surprise this game has been. When I first heard of GoW, I honestly thought that it would not live up to it's potential. Boy, am I eating sweet, sweet crow now. This game has without a doubt, surpassed and exceeded my expectations beyond imagination and with the GoW trilogy finally being announced, I for one cannot wait for Gears of War 2.
