Fun, intuitive controls, great graphics, a must for the system, can feel stale at times.
User Rating: 8.9 | Gears of War X360
A gear of War was arguably one of the most anticipated games on the market. It nearly topped the wish lists of 360 players across the world as a must by game (it could hold off some people before halo 3 launched next year =)) when it finally arrived, to some peoples surprise it lead up to the hype it was given and proved all the things it said it was going to do. In the first week of launch it sold a million of copies and it flew off the shelves. I still did not think that I should completely buy into the hype but I did however be one of the many to buy a copy that week. I saw it as one of the first of many great games that were going to come to this console and for the first few weeks it never left my disc tray, But as the sugar coating started to come off. I witnessed a not so perfect game, many times I had trouble with the cover system not covering me were I wanted and the not so ideal aiming system. It still did however call me to play it and though it was addicting, I started to look towards other games to fulfill my need of instant gratification. I began to see how repetitive game it was, cover, shoot, cover, shoot, curb stomp, repeat. The more I played it the less it felt amazing to me. Sure I loved what they did for the single-player story being a very tight and well polished game; though short I am currently playing it for the third time. It’s hard to explain but I guess it did not capture my attention as much as it did for other players some reason. The game is still I feel something to get and I hope it enthralls the next person more than me. Props to all those who worked tirelessly on the game, the end product is a great piece of work.
