Third person shooters are doing great. First Resident Evil 4, now this! Also badass as hell.

User Rating: 10 | Gears of War X360
Gameplay: basically flawless. Yeah, the dynamics of the game are a bit hard to grasp at first, but when you learn it, and start taking cover and doing all sorts of crazy rambo stuff, you'll feel great. Also, the chainsaw is perhaps one of the most satisfying things in any action game. It is immensely violent and beautiful.

Sound: Perfect! The music isn't too epic or annoying like in lots of RPGs, yet it isn't that subtle as to bore you at any point, or wonder where the music is. The calm in between the fights is also well implemented.

Graphics: Just beautiful. The only complaint would have to be the slightly corny size of the biceps of some of the COGs. Cole, one of your squad mates, has hilariously huge arms. Doesn't matter though, as the graphics are perfect, and it runs very smoothly on the 360 (unlike say, oblivion). Also, I can't remember ever having a long loading time (unlike, OBLIVION).

Story: The enemies are from underground for once, not from outer space. I'm assuming the sequel will add a lot more information on the story. Also, the characters are memorable considering the nature of the game. You won't forget Arcturus Cole or Jack.

I could recommend this to anyone who likes action or shooter games, or squad based games (if you're oneline). Your squad in single player will not help you very much.

Yeah, it's not a first person shooter, it still has basic aiming dynamics with 3rd person elements thrown in (like taking cover, doing a quick roll, or even chainsawing the torso of a locust in half). It's a brilliant combination. The only thing is that the game isn't that easy, even on casual difficulty setting. It's not a ninja gaiden, but it's tough. Well worth the money, ESPECIALLY if you have online. Coop is immensely fun an d intense.
