Gears of War is a game of its own. Campaign is something to remember, while multiplayer is, at its best, just alright.

Gears of War was the first game that I purchased with my Xbox 360 and it was a wonderful way to start my stint with the next-gen consoles. Marcus Fenix is one helluva badass who you don't want to mess with. The game is very dark and gory but fits in perfectly with what Epic Games were trying to accomplish. Graphics were top notch, enemies were both difficult and fun to beat, and the soundtrack was a good fit for the game's atmosphere. Guns were some kind of wonderful, especially the lancer rifle; who doesn't love cutting enemies into pieces with a chainsaw then blowing their head off with the rifle. Re-play value is good; campaign is worth play over again on different difficulties but after a while it can get a little old. One thing that will just piss you off is Dom when he's controlled by the cpu; he will make you want take that chainsaw of yours and shove it up his... you know. He always stands in the middle of the action and dies within five seconds of battle; not very smart. But all in all, this game is definetely one of the best on Xbox 360.
