Oh **** yeah
Gameplay 10/10 - The main point of Gears is to intensify things. In the single player almost right off the bat your pit against the locust (evil mole people things) in heart pounding battles. The battles in Gears are smartly designed, making you have to use cover, if you stick your head out for a few seconds your dead. Of course I'm talking about the Insane difficulty but it still is difficult. Using one button to control your evasive manuvers takes some time to get used to but, once you get the hang of it you realize how simplistic it is. The AI is surprizingly smart, your opponents play like humans with a few hitches however your team has different personalities like Baird fights intelligently only advancing when safe, Cole tries to chainsaw alot & likes using a shotgun, & Dom... well Dom dies, only rarely will you see him do something impressive. The online well..... be prepared to get pwned a lot. Graphics 10/10 - The graphics are a work of art. Really you think your looking at a painting at portions, the enviroments & the character models all detailed right down to each hair on Marcus's beard. To be honest you don't get this much detail when you get a headshot.
Sound 10/10 - The audio quality is as impressive as the graphics. The voice overs are done by professionals like John DiMaggio (Bender - Futurama). The overall music is done by a professional ocrestra that can really fit the mood whether it's the calm before the storm or an actually storm.
Value 10/10 - The main story despite its length, surprizingly has a lot of replay value. All five acts can take around 3 hours on casual to about 12 hours on insane. The game also features a cool co-op mode where a friend can play as Dom in get a few achievements, unfortunately you can only play with one other person and not get a little 4 player co-op action. The multiplayer well... if you've played Counter Strike you can imagine how insane some people. Whether they're glitching or surviving 4 shotgun blasts from point blank range just be ready to bring your A-game.
Tilt 10/10 - The games AI as well as the graphics is its main selling point. You have to take cover or die. The intensity whether online or off never lets up so get a strategy guide & a few cans of Mountain Dew 'cause the Gears of War keep turnin' playas.
