General Chaos was a particularly good game for its time. It had good looks, good effects, good sound, good playability, good everything. It was one of the few games on the Sega Genesis that had a four player mode and surely enough I used it. However, the Sega Genesis is another one of those machines that only had two ports for controllers and so one would have to go to a store that just happens to sell the four-player jack and buy two extra controllers (and have four people interested in playing it). There are several ways you can play this including: one player versus the CPU, two players versus the CPU or versus each other, three players with two-on-one, and four players with two-on-two play. The basic idea behind this game is to capture the enemy capital by fighting in a series of battles and winning to advance to a province closer to the enemy capital. This action of going back and forth between the two capitals can go on for quite awhile and the replay value is very high; my brothers and I played it countless times with out ever becoming bored. And although the person who wins the battle gets to advance there is also some subtleties to the game such as medics and loot for points after the province is taken and so not every victory is an all-out victory. There are many different groups of soldiers you can pick from with the largest group consisting of five and the smallest consisting of two. The standard of a cooperative game is two soldiers per player for a total of four per team. Well that’s about it for my review on this truly great game as I have more than filled my quota on words at three hundred two. Please message me if you think I left something out. By the way this makes three hundred twenty.
