a pretty good shot at giving a turnbased map to realtime battles a try. sort of like a very watered down anime total war
i bought it to give it a shot, and at first, i was very dissapointed. looking at a large page filled map with tons of menues and abbreviations(spelling?) that i didnt understand. i just kinda fooled around withit, and the skilled AI attacked one of my regiments. the battles are fun, its 30 on 30 battles, which dosent sound like much, but seeing the 2 waves of forces attack eachother is pretty amusing. like in the total war franchise, you can make the units go into different formations before the battle. the battles are like total war but instead of 10 regiments fighting eachother its 2. there are spells, which have extremely annoying videos before they take place, thankfully, you can turn them off. the spell effects are pretty cool, such as three bombs of light fall down from they sky to destory the forces. or a soft circle of light surrounds the enemy, and a large beam of energy blats into the troops. you cant help but smirk as the enemy continues to charge at you with only 5 soldiers left while you have an entire regiment. archers are cool too, even though the range is very short for them.
