Just as Entertaining as the Original....

User Rating: 8.4 | Genma Onimusha XBOX
To be honest with you, I never actually had the chance of playing the original OnImusha on the PS2. But now that I got the fully enhanced Xbox version, its official that this game kicks ass.

Graphics:
The character models are pretty much well done overall. However, the environment really stands out more than the characters. Moving Samonosuke through the map will make your eyes pop out of their sockets with some of the compelling visuals and enhancements that the Xbox provides. The only minor drawback to this game is that the framerate can be glitchy at times. Other than that its truly a sight for sore eyes.

Sound:
Interesting orchestrated musical score, as well as nicely implemented sound effects really makeover this game to be the best version of Onimusha Warlords as possible. The voice acting is mediocre, and Samonosuke can sound downright clueless throughout the game, but that doesnt take much focus off of the gameplay, or action the game has to offer.

Control:
Capcom makes this game feel like a Resident Evil title. The control can be clumsy at times. Moving Samonosuke can take some getting used to. Especially if youre a noob, and never played a Resident Evil game before. But once you can get passed the awkward balance of the control scheme, and the sometimes frustrating camera, you will become more attuned to the sense of style of the gameplay.

Replay:
Once you manage to complete the short 8-10 hr. story mode, there are some things that you may want to go back for. Such as if you didnt manage to upgrade your armor, weapons, and items to their maximum level. Another reason to play the game over again is if you didnt quite grasp on to the somewhat fragmented story.

Overall:
Capcom did a brilliant job of integrating an enhanced version of Onimusha Warlords on the Xbox by adding some new enhanced weapons, and some nicely done graphical achievements that stand out from the PS2 version. The only thing that can be a turn off to some people is the awkward control scheme, mixed with some moments of the story that might confuse, and cause some to inquire as to how that implies to the game. But other than that I really enjoyed this game, and love all of the sequels and games to come from the series.
