Absolute, seizure inducing fun.
The graphics look great in HD. The colours, and flashiness were great and the graphics were also very sharp.
Gameplay in Geometry Wars 2 is simple yet very very fun. There are 6 different game types; Deadline, King, Pacifism, Evolved, Waves, and Sequence. In Deadline you have 3 minutes and unlimited lives to rack up as many points as you can possibly achieve. In King you have one life and the only way to shoot is to place yourself in a circle where you cant be damaged, but the catch is that the circles only last for a couple seconds once you enter them. Pacifism is the "peaceful" way of dealing with hordes of shapes. You run around incapable of shooting and the only way to kill enemies is to fly through these gates that will explode. Evolved is the normal mode where you have 3 lives and 3 bombs. Waves is a very challenging mode where lines of fast flying orange ships, sometimes taking up the whole width/length of the screen will constantly fly back forth. In Sequence you are put into a series of instances where scripted challenges await you. All these game types can also be experienced in 2-4 player cooperative or versus modes (which is so much fun).
The sound is very good and fitting for Geometry Wars 2. The background music is catchy electronic music, which just puts you in a good mood. Sound effects like explosions, shooting, etc. are also very good (not that you pay much attention to it when the screen is covered in enemies).
The only problems with Geometry Wars 2 is that multiplayer is not online (which the devs explain is because all the enemies on screen would lag), and some people may find it very hard.
