Should be concidered a classic!
This game is based on the Japanese anime with the same name. The story follows you as a newbie at Section 9, an elite police team in the future. I haven't seen the anime, so I can't really give you any further detail on the characters or the anime itself, but in this game you're going around in a spider-looking tank called "The Fuchikoma" gunning down terrorists, helicopters etc. Each mission start with a cool briefing screen where you're getting a clue of what's going on and what you need to do. The briefing is actually well executed with futuristic images and music.
Speaking of music, that's the first thing that makes this game enjoyable. The technotunes creates the feeling that you're playing in a science-fiction movie.
Another very amazing thing is... get ready: The abillty to climb walls and objects. I remember the first time I played this game, this what really blow my mind. The abillity isn't just for fun though, sometime you gotta climb a wall to get to where you're supposed to go. You can also jump and slide forwards, backwards, left and right.
The graphics are good for the time, and they're still decent even by modern standards.
Ghost in the shell is a game you might have trouble finding, but when you do, it will definetely be worth all the time you've put down on finding it. The only letdown is that the game is short, only 12 missions long but you'll definetely have a hard time beating the last level as I have (I still haven't been able to pull it off) but it doesn't even matter. It can't get any better then shooting robots with a Fuchikoma!
