For a Ghostbusters fan this is great game to try, but the PC version is one of the worst ports of all time.

I didn't play any of the console versions, and I wish I had because they seemed to have less performance problems. I couldn't get this game to run at a stable framerate in windows 7 (64 bit), I was able to get it playing much more stable in Windows xp 32 bit. The performance of this game is all over the place, some of the smallest areas in the game had the worst framerate of 20-30 fps somehow... while the larger ones sometimes had over 100 fps. For the most part of the game, the framerate was good as long as I was playing the game in windows xp. Anyone with Windows 7 probably will have more random framerate drops... if anyone is interested, I was playing with a E8400@4.0ghz with an ATI 3870x2. Which is another thing I will mention, crossfire made the game run slower than with it turned off. The most unplayable and lowest framerates occured at the final level in the game, sometimes dropping to 15fps. Antialiasing doesnt even work in this game, and if you force it, you will go from 100fps to about 5fps. I think this game is very cpu dependent, I read about many people with 480gtx and 5870's with even worse fps than me. The graphics were acceptable but theres so many games I've played which run 100-200 fps stable and look almost twice as good.

As for the actual game, I liked everything from the weapons and the story, and the fact all the actors were doing voices for the game. That being said, there isn't a reason for a person to play this game unless you liked the ghostbusters to begin with. If i was to put myself in the position of never seeing the movies, I wouldn't have liked this game much at all. All the environments could be messed up a lot with the weapons which was really fun... and the proton pack by the end of the game is as powerful as you can imagine. All the ghosts you smack around and catch and the feeling you get after weakening them is pretty good. The movies didn't really show this much, so its nice to play it out in a game the struggle of fighting down ghosts and having to catch them while 2 or 3 others are flying all over you.

Bottom line, good game for fans. PC version completely crap port and plays good at times, and other times unplayable almost. It isn't surprised, Terminal realities last pc port game of Bloodrayne 2 was not very good either.
