Review scores don't tell the whole story
User Rating: 8.5 | Ghostbusters: The Video Game X360
This game is great. I tend to think Gamespot and reviewers didn't really give it the props it deserves. This game has something that has been missing in games imo. Heart. The entire cast is back and its written by Ackroyd and Ramis and pretty much plays out like Ghostbusters 3 if the actors didn't age and ghostbusters 3 happened in 1991. I would have loved to see this game and see what hollywood could have done with it. The story is outstanding and so are the environments. As far as a game it's a pretty standard linear first person shooter with achievements and a good amount of neat stuff mixed in. You are a ghostbuster and the mechanics and weapons are excellent. The graphics and environments are also very detailed and well done. It also features a full featured online mode that is a lot of fun. The game isn't without it's quirks though and to be honest it left me wanting more in a lot regards. I wish there was full featured coop. I wish the replay value was slightly better. There are some graphical hitches and framerate issues, and it does leave that taste of wanting more. I would have loved to drive ecto-1 and have more choices and environments and interaction but it is there in a lot of ways. All in all though this game brings back something i havent felt in a while. Fun and it's true to the movies moreso than i could have imagined. Ultimately this game does a lot more right than it does wrong.
Pro's-
+Great story and environments. It's spooky and has great boss battles and just cool stuff
+Great mechanics and weapons
+voiceovers are outstanding
+Gameplay and mechanics are solid
+GRaphics are amazingly detailed
+Fun Multiplayer
Con's-
-The multiplayer mode isnt coop as far as letting you play through levels. It just lets you coop through various scenarios
-Framerate issues
-I want more! It's a great game but it's replay value isn't what it could have been. IE more weapons, choices, more scenarios
-some gameplay and design quirks that could have been ironed out.
