I wrote Gibbage, so it's probably not fair of me to review it. It's brilliant. I give it 96% www.g
But, to be fair, Gibbage is brilliant. It's a dead simple concept with ruthlessly hardcore gameplay that most modern gamers will have no problem with. Even after two years of development, playing it every single day, I'm still keen to fire it up and have a fight. You can find out more about what Gibbage is, and download a FREE demo over at www.gibbage.co.uk
The ethos behind the game was to have something that was actually sociable:
"Here’s how I remember games back when I was between about 8 and 13 years old and getting peak enjoyment out of them: I’d either go round Mike Horner’s house or he’d come round mine. We’d boot up something like Chuckie Egg, Streets of Rage or Worms and wee ourselves laughing at the other person’s ineptitude."
Some people have complained that the controls are too hard, and that the special moves are too tricky to pull off so I probably ought to mention that. Although I have no problem whatsoever with the controls, this has been noted for the sequel. If I ever write a sequel.
Anyway - it's only £6/ $10ish, which is well worth it for when friends come round and you're looking to have some fun while huddled over your keyboard. Like in the olden days!
That, or there's a single player option if you're a loner.
I'm always looking for feedback, so drop me a line when you've played it through (my email is on the website). And buy a copy so I can quit my day job and focus 100% on a more spangly sequel.
The website is www.gibbage.co.uk, which is always getting updated with interesting/ funny/ rude stuff. So drop by.
All the best,
Dan Marshall
