I know some people have to be apprehensive about this game. I mean how could a game live up to all of the hype it's being given. It seems like games that FULLY live up to the hype they are given are few and far between these days. But trust me, God Of War Does live up to the hype it has been given. In fact it exceeds that hype 10x over. Right after you turn on your playstation and pop in the disk, you're transported to Ancient Rome, a time of Gorgons, Menotaurs and soul-less demons. The gameplay, graphics and music exude a Romanic time period. The Graphics ar top notch. This IS one of the best games on any console as far as graphics go. Amazing textures and character animations. This game shows off what a "dinosaur" of a console system can do. The Gameplay is yet another 1 karrot diamond in the Diamond mine. Great combos and ultra-responsive controls make this game superb. Not many games have such responsive controls as this God of War's. You cna be in the process of throwing down some wicked moves, and throw a block at the first sign of trouble. Another amazing facet of the gameplay is the fact that "key" move in a battle makes all time slow down. For instance, Say you're battling a menotaur, and your slicing im up pretty good, then all of a sudden he raises up his axe to slice at you. So while in the middle of a move, you can switch to a block, and if successful, time slows. It's almost like it's showing how the "tide of battle" ahs changed. Sound is yet again a fine point. The Music is stellar. It fits the game perfectly. The voice actors are amazing, and Krato's voice is nothing short of "oscar worthy". As far as Value goes, there's tons of replay here, also there are some great extras to be unlocked. This game is simply AMAZING. There is no better game on any console as far as I'm concerned. This is a must buy for any PS2 owner. Of course there are some parts with nudity (featuring 2 nude women on a bed and all of the gorgons are topless), and the game is extremely gory. But truely anyone who wants a solid action game, with a great story, landmark graphics accompanied by great music and voice acting; this is the gmae to get. BUY THIS GAME. period.
