This game has it all. Blood, gore, huge enemies, sex, puzzles, the best music I've heard in a video game, wonderful graphics, great plot, and to put the icing on the cake...Kratos. Kratos is a kickass character. That's all that needs to be said. The game's core is its action. Killing enemies till they split in half. The game starts out introducing you to the controls and the action. Once you get accustomed to it, the game wastes no time in putting you in a boss fight. The action is so much fun because Kratos moves and attacks unlike any other game you have played. His weapons can reach over half the screen, but that doesn't make the game easy. Similiar to Devil May Cry, Kratos learns new combos and magic spells as the game goes on by collecting red orbs. The combos and magic spells are perfectly spaced throughout the game. It doesn't matter what part of the game you are in, you will always be working on building Kratos up; either by learning a new move, a new spell, or a new combo. Second is the music. Most video games have computer generated, keyboard style music. Not this one. Expect full blown orchestra music, like a movie soundtrack. The music always fits whats going on in the game. The story is a great story that is wonderfully narrated and voice acted. That's all that needs to be said about that. Next is the graphics, by far the best PS2 graphics out there. God of War is a game where everything came together perfectly; action, story, music, puzzles, voice acting, and graphics to make a wonderful gaming experience. This is the playstation 2 at its very best, and it's pretty damn good.
