A game fit for the gods

Lets face it. There have been many action adventure games for the ps2 that have been released and not many of them have stood out as great must have titles. God of war is a game that will appeal to older gamers and people who just love a good time. In the beginning of the game you'll find yourself on a boat in the middle of a horrid Hydra attack, armed with your trusty dual Chaos blades, you will fight though ancient Greece and beyond. Right from the start you notice that the battles feel really good and different "Fatal" moves can be used by pressing the circle button fallowed by a combo of buttons that pop up on screen keeping combat fresh and entertaining. The boss battles in this game are fun and intense, but it could have been better if they added more bosses(theres only 4).The game isn't only combat. Though out the game you will encounter different kinds of puzzles, from moving human sized blocks to avoiding a floor of spikes none of the puzzles ever made you frustrated which is good. As the game goes on you'll find that you will gain many spells, abilities and a new weapon. The problem with this is, other then some occasions, you won't really even need most of your spells or your Blade of Athena, but their always good to have and pretty fun to use. The one thing that is a sure problem with the game is its length. Sure theres some things to unlock and theres even a challenge of the gods mode as an extra but at the end beating the game on default plus the CotG challenge adds up to around 6-8 hours. But for $20.00 this is a very good deal. Overall this game is a perfect display of a masterpiece and is worth a least a rental.
