Lives up to the hype and so MUCH MORE.

Okay. I bought my PS2 used w/16 games and I hadn't even heard of God of War (like I said, I'd been out of the gaming scene for quite awhile). I read the reviews for of the games that were included with my system and after a little bit of reading on God of War, I was excited to play. As I began my journey to save the city of Athens, though, boy were it's strong points understated. I won't give it a 10, b/c I did encounter a couple of glitches while playing, but it will be pretty close. Musical composition was outstanding!!! Storyline - perfect (but kinda sad). Gameplay mechanics were great and the graphics (for a non-next gen system) are UNBELIEVABLE!!! It took me, a novice, about 11 hours to beat this game from start to finish. That includes MULTIPLE deaths during difficult portions (i.e. the final battle with you know who). The extras you unlock for beating the game are some of the coolest around. All around, this game rocks. I can't wait for the 2nd in the series.
