The first time I picked up the controller to play this game I was hooked. Greek Mythology is an interest of mine and has been for quite some time so this was a shoe in. Kratos is quite possibly the most kick ass protagonist I have ever encountered. He wields the blades of chaos with impunity as he hacks and slashes his way through various mythological creatures; commands respect from the gods themselves; and exudes and aura of omnipotence that few dare to challenge. The gameplay is fluid, the moves are just plain sick, the plot is on par with other action/adventure games and the leveling system is efficient. Who wouldn't want to be a Spartan bad ass who answers to no one including the gods? GOW is just short of perfect. Graphically it is superb though not the best I have ever seen on the PS2. The story line was good but not fantastic. The overall gameplay was, in my opinion, flawless. All together this was as solid as it gets. Very few games deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as GOW.
