I recently got a PS2 because my PS3 is not backward compatible and I picked up a bunch of games including God of War. Well. Once God of War was in my PS2, it stayed there until I had beaten it. This is a totally refreshing action/platformer that just flat out feels gratifying. It is easy to understand and pick up in a hurry and it deals with Greek Mythology which is a total blast if you had to sit through boring lectures about what god x did to which god y, etcetera. Very few games have I played that were so pure and simple and fun as this one. It's like Soul Calibur crossed with Ratchet and Clank. The only cons I can think of are really related to different game chestnuts that typically irritate myself, but they may be enjoyable for you. I don't like having to die 50 times trying to balance beam for 4 miles (an exaggeration) at a time, but some people do. The production values are fantastic and you have great extras in the Treasures section of the game were you can see interviews with people who were making it. When this game was done, I went right out and bought God of War 2. Please understand that this is a game for ADULTS. It has 3 SETS OF BARE BREASTS and LOTS of BLOOD AND GORE. This is nothing out of the ordinary considering the subject matter, but if you are looking for a game for your young progeny, you best be looking elsewhere. I got carded at Gamestop AND at Target buying GOW 1&2. I don't look under 17 either. Fair warning.
