Why? Thats all I can say. Just, why? Why does everyone constantly praise this game. They make it sound like its the equivilent of sex or the first Godfather movie or something. This game is not as good as everyone makes it sound. God of War is a third-person action game from SCEA. You play as a former Spartan soldier named Kratos who was betrayed by the Greek god of war, Aries. Hence the name "God of War". He seeks out revenge against Aries. Yeah, like a human can kill a God. That sounds right. Anyways, the story is actually pretty well thought out.

The gameplay is very simple. Hack and slash a few minions then get into a button-mashing sequence. The button-mashing sequences occur about every five minutes. They get extremely repetitive and old. It would be nice if there were some animation changes also. They all look they same. The gameplay is not well thought out at all. It is very dissapoiting.

The sound department is somewhat better. The voice actors and Kratos sound pretty flat. The music is suspensful sometimes. The battle sequences don't really sound that realistic or good for that matter. The weapns all sound the same and all the screams of pain coming from the enemies sound like the zombie grunts from "Dawn of the Dead".

Why everyone praises and says how good this game is, I shall never know. The game has repititive combat, a flat sound department, and an alright story.
