God of War has everything that a good game should have. Good action, storyline, cut scenes, challenges........challenges from the gods to be specific. God of War combines knives with chains, un-human powers and combos all in one human. The point of the game is to take revenge on the God of War, Ares, who saved Kratos' life in a battle that he was surely to be killed. By asking Ares to help him, Kratos became the servant of the God. At first Kratos does what Ares asked but Kratos always gets these flashbacks about the past. And some were about his wife and kid being killed. But with all that drama out of the way Kratos wants vengeance, since the God of War took his family away.
Your journey starts at Athens and with the help of the Gods and Goddesses, Kratos gains new weapons and powers. The Gods angry that Ares wants to destroy everything will do anything to stop him, and Kratos is the best answer. With all the weapons, you also can upgrade them and make them more powerful and destructive. Battling mythological beasts and chopping some zombies are a great entertainment (if you are old enough). Also another thing that is great about God of War is the Challenge of the Gods. In this part of the game you have to pass 10 challenges in order to unlock some secret costumes. Great, tricky and challenging but full of blood and fun.
The best play station 2 game of 2005 and a must have for PS2 holder. Is a great rated M game and God of War II should be as good as this one.
