The awesome story, the mind-blowing game-play, and the sheer brutality of the action is only the half of it!
The storyline takes place during the heyday of Greece and revolves around a fallen warrior named Kratos. Kratos was a general who sold his soul to Aries (the god of war) in order to defeat his foes when the battle was lost. After his fall from grace upon his death he is damned by the Gods and plunged into torment. While he is gone, Aries decides to attack and destroy Athens and the Gods, persuaded by Athena, decide to let Kratos loose to stop Aries. This story provides the game with an excellent basis on which expand upon. The non-stop action is addictive as well as well scripted. Kratos has to complete several objectives in order to accomplish his task and each one is just as awesome if not better than the last.
From the moment the game starts you step right into the action and are forced to gain a quick understanding of the control scheme which can be a little daunting to some. There is no easy way to learn other than trial and error, but once you learn the ins and outs of the controls, they become second nature and you will find yourself executing combos and chains of attacks like a professional war-monger.
The graphics are definitely above par and the surroundings will draw you in. As Kratos you will have access to different attacks by learning combos and gaining a few different weapons (none of which is as more brutal and awesome as your chain blades). During the course of the game, you will also gain the favor of the Gods who will bestow their favors upon you in the form of awesome magical attacks to carve your way through the enemies ranks. You will earn points from killing your enemies and opening treasure chests which you can use to level up your weapons and powers to cause greater amounts of damage.
I will stop here and let you experience the awesomeness of this game for yourself. You owe it to yourself to experience this game first hand. To play it is to want it. Slash on Kratos!
