Without a doubt the most breathtaking action adventure game in a long time...
The gameplay is very simular to Devil May Cry,the controls are a bit akward but with some fancy finishing moves it beats Devil May Cry in overall style, though it sometimes reminds a bit of Hack & Slash this is mostly strategy based fighting, and you will enjoy it. You are intergrated into the gameplay as the game really begs you to make an effort if you want to proceed.
God of War has some beautiful gameplay graphics, and the cinematic cutscenes are really beautiful, they have really put some effort into this game, and it really shows.
As for sound,it's really great, once you get into battle it changes according to what you do to your surroundings, for instance let's say you're fighting this huge monster, and all these small creeps are trying to take you down too. Now you take down the big one,and the battle theme suddenly changes into a more proud theme,as if you can hear that you have accived something. Also this game has some of the greatest voicing I have heard in a long while, most games have these "clean" voices, but this game they really sound like ordinary people,in that they have these small flaws in their pronounciation in a way that really makes it sound authentic (though Cratos has somewhat of a "powervoicing")
This game is definitely worth your money,if you're not really into action games the story will entice you anyways,in that it's a deep and really sad story, and at the end of your quest you really do hold a grudge on the God of War,you WILL want him dead... This is without a doubt the most breathtaking action adventure game in a long time.
