A short, but fun mobile game that is worth playing if you're a "God of War" fan.

"God of War: Betrayal" is an entertaining side-scroller. It manages to capture the action, feel, and fun of the original game in a mobile format. Granted you're still playing a mobile game, it's very good for what it is.

Betrayal takes place between GOW and GOW 2. Kratos has assumed his place as the God of War, and he and his Spartan army are waging war everywhere. Hera has sent her monster Argos to stop you. You will have a few boss fights with him, all of which are short and very easy.

You fight an assortment of the same villains seen in the first game. One would think that since Kratos is now a god, that they would pose no threat. The player, I assume, is expected to ignore this minor detail.

The game has a lot of the same features from the first title. Different combos with the Blades of Chaos/Athena's Blades, ability to level up your weapons, and magic/god powers. It's fun to use these, but they don't look very impressive because of the limitations of the mobile device.

The biggest shortcoming of this game is that it is just to easy. None of the enemies are especially challenging. Even the final boss, Ceryx, doesn't pose much of a challenge.

The game is still very fun and features a fun battle arena. In the arena your goal is to kill as many enemies as possible until you die. It gives the game a bit of replay value, though not much.

This game is geared mostly to "God of War" fans, but people who generally like beat-em-ups should be able to find something worthwhile here. If you're willing to blow the $7.99 on a mobile title, it's definitely worth checking out.
