Crisis what? GoW crushes the competition on the PSP.

User Rating: 9.5 | God of War: Chains of Olympus PSP
I'm going to keep this short and sweet, because my fingers are tired from writing so many reviews tonight. God of War: Chains of Olympus is something of a rarity on the PSP: It is a game that every PSP fan should own. Okay, maybe not every PSP fan. GoW flexes its M rating like protagonist Kratos flexes his muscles after gouging out an enemy's eyeball with his sword. This game definately isn't for the younger set of PSP owners, but for those who are old enough to play it, GoW delivers a nudity and gore soaked six hours of intense fun.

Wait, six hours? As in...the entire game can be beaten in six hours? Yes, as unfortunate as it is, Kratos' adventure must come to a close only five to six hours after it begins. While the short length is somewhat fitting of a portable video game, it is still a little jarring to see such an epic adventure come to its end so quickly. Fortunately, those five to six hours of gameplay are very replayable thanks to excellent controls and a well paced story.

God of War's transition from PS2 to PSP has actually been a smooth one. Everything fits onto the PSP's minimal button layout surprisingly well; so well, in fact, that it seems like GoW was originally intended for the PSP. There are occasional troubles when attempting to dodge attacks, but everything else works as well as GoW fans would expect.

The graphics and sound deliver an amazing experience that many thought would be impossible on the PSP. It truly looks and sounds like a PS2 game. So, although many will have issues with the length of the game, it really is the most fun available for the PSP, which is no small compliment.
