The game shows a kind of scale not seen in many games but not everything in the game is done to well enough for a sequel

User Rating: 9.5 | God of War II PS2
Initially, the game starts off showing a lot of promise and for the most part, that is held up but that promise isn't fully exploited and made the game feel a little lack luster.

Technically, almost everything seemed to have improved or at least remained consent in contrast to the first game. The first thing that is noticeable is how the backgrounds and other environments are much more polished and refined ,giving a better sense of realism. Another thing one will notice is that level progression is a little different, and it isn't as smooth as compared to the first game. A consent in both the first and the sequel is how buggy the game is, all though it isn't a big problem,it can be quite annoying.

Character designs also are very polished have some variation including old and new enemies/coloration. Most enemies also seemed fitting to the setting but there where a few that felt out of place and detracted from the overall game play experience. Bosses in this game where numerous, in contrast to the three in the first game, but where also unmemorable and horribly simple with maybe one or two exceptions.

The best part of the previous game was how it left off and and thankfully God Of War II continued that trend well. The game both starts off and ends in very great ways and the CGI scenes have a robustness that brings the series to a new world all of its own. On the other hand, the main objective of the game was extremely long and took up a majority of the game which got old, fast but that doesn't make the game bad. Luckily the length of the objective was brought to an end in a cohesive manner.

Even though there where several drawbacks to aspects of the game, this game was on the same level as the first, if not a little better. Overall, this was a fun game to play and is a must for anyone with a PlayStation 2 or 3.
