God of War II is definitely the best thing to get for your ps2

After sitting idly, wanting a good gaming experiece, i thought id go out and rent god of war 2. After playing throuh the first level, i adored it. the gameplay was great, and i had a lot of fun. For those not familiar with the series, it goes like this. Kratos is a spartan warrior turned god after he killed ares, the god of war. Now, kratos is the god of war, and he assists sparta to get victories. the gods are displeased, so they take his god status away from him. Zeus come to kill him, but he gets out of hades den. Kraots now is on another revenge fueled quest to kill zues and regain his godly status. (ok, enough spoliers :P ) The first thing you will notice in this game are the graphics. Considering this game was designed on a system that is at least 7 years old, it is spectacular. If you cant picture what i mean, go to the images section. What also astounded me was the scope. After playing the first few missions, you will see what i mean. the levels are gigantic, with numerous helpful saving and checkpoint stops. On one level, you had to cross a giant chain to get to another part of an island, and you could see amazing details for miles. During the cutscenes, the graphics are good, but during hi-def cutscenes they look 100% real. (look on youtube for examples). Overall, this game's graphics are AMAZING. Now, gameplay. The fighting is usually made up of the blades of athena, big twirly blades that have a lot of damage radius. As you collect red orbs, either from chests or dead people, you can upgrade you weapons, making more combos and stronger weapons. The combos are actaully pretty cool, and varying them makes the game really interesting. Now, the puzzles. This game is stock full of not so hard puzzles, but some puzzles may cause you to really scratch your head. Puzzles make this game more fun and interesting. now, sound. the sountrack in this game is great. there is always cool and interesting music on. To see what i mean, go to itunes and see the album. Lastly, there has been a llot of hype about this game being inappropiate. it is M for mature and doe have nudity and extreme violence, like cuting off someones arm and throwing it at them to kill them. there is also a lot of blood too. If you have a very young child, this game is definitely not for him, but people mature that are 13 and up are well suited for this game. To parents, i would read into gow before i buy it for a young child. Overall, i really like this game. my advice for you is to get gow1 first so you can understand the story line, and because its a great game. So, if you want gow2, go get it! you will not be let down.
