God of War 2 is the best action adventure game on the PS2 to date!
And no i'm not some God of War super fan-boy, who will give it a 10 cause the name, but I will give it exactly what i think it deserves and thats a near perfect score! but now to the actual review!
Pros:
Gameplay : The gameplay is just sheer greatness, just about every aspect of it is great, not to mention fun as heck, and yes it may be just about the same as the first God of War, gameplay why's, but it's that and more, the've updated some of the moves for instance the L1 moves, like L1 Square, it used to just spin around a little bit in the air in a forward moving way, which personally I didn't really like all to much yes it was cool for a little bit but it jus got old, and not very effective later on. But I did like the L1 Triangle well to some extent, but overall it was also pretty useless cause it just left you open, but anyways, the new moves or in this case some new and some improved, the L1 Square is very useful in this one, but on the higher difficulty's it wasn't as useful, same with L1 Triangle and L1 Circle, but they are still great!, but anyways the Gameplay is Awesome either way!
O and the new weapons are also a nice touch.
Graphics : The Graphics well can be described in 1 word, AMAZING! II mean of course it's definitely not the best looking game out there, it is by far the best looking PS2 game in existence, well at least to me. I mean com on it's just so pretty, I mean The whole scale of the environments and the effects like the dust and smoke and all that stuff looks great! everything possible graphically looks better then the first one if not twice as good, and of course the scale of the game is well i'd say it's also twice as big as the first one's, and I'd like to see anyone disagree with me on that. but overall the graphics are fantastic, and I would get more into it if I didn't hate writing reviews.
Sound : The Sound is also fantastic, the music is just as great as the first God of Wars music, if not a tiny bit better, and well the Orchestral music fits perfectly with the tone of God of War, and I can't see them doing it any other way. But the sound is just great, to the screams of your enemies to the footsteps that kratos makes, it's all good! Cons :
Gameplay : Well the only few things I can think of that would make it better, is well though the new weapons are nice the blades, and the blade, are really the only useful weapons, yes the hammer is strong but the only time I found myself using it was in Titan mode, but thats it, and well I never really use the spear of destiny, yes it's a sweet weapon but it just wasn't my cup of tea, (I can't believe I just said that) but again they might be nice, but they aren't that good, I think they should of made them have more moves, and Omg they crapped out the hammers moves, they could of made it so much better but noooooo!!! and I would of loved a spin move for the Blade of Olympus it would come in so handy, also even though the arena of the fates is also a nice touch it isn't really worth playing, and well my final complaint was the fact that only the blades had an L1 X move, even though it sucks, well in my opinion it does, but I would of liked to see more variety in the new weapons next time.
Graphics : Well I really don't have any complaints about the Graphics cause well there is nothing really wrong with them, minus a few graphical glitches but what game doesn't have those.
Sound : Again I don't have any real complaints about the Sound, except again a few sound glitches/delays.

Value : Well even if God of War 2 doesn't have the perfect amount of replay value, it most certainly is close to it, so far i've beaten it 6 times, it would be more except 3 of my friends have files on them, I just have one real complaint about the thing that keeps it from getting a perfect 10 for replay, is the bonus play, yes it's uber fun the first time but then it's like ehh, it takes all the challenge out of it, especially cause once your stuff is leveled up you can't lvl them up unless you start a new game, but then if you do that you can't skip the cut scenes, but thats not something new, (no skippy the cut scenes in first god of war ever!) but if they would of just let you be able to upgrade your stuff again, even after you beat it, it would definitely possibley get a 10 for replay, again maybe there might be 1 more reason but idk if that would effect it or not.
But Overall God of War 2 is just an overall fantastic game, though I would of preferred there be no nudity, or at least no sex mini game, but again that's not going to happen, but anyone who likes Greek mythology or just like a good action/adventure game, then you'de better pic God of War 2 up, well unless you don't mind some nudity here and there! and of course lots of blood and gore, lol.
