God of War 2 brings action adventure into a new level.
Gameplay - This game combines puzzle solving with combat action. This time the action has been refined so that this time the combat feels smoother than before. Even the puzzles are more challenging this time with more brain teasing elements that's neither too hard nor too easy. Combat action basically consists of arm to arm combat, flight and 'cinteractive' like in God of War. This time more combo moves are available with mixtures from the first one and new ones.
Visual - Stunning is the word I'd choose to describe this game. Larger environments, beautiful scenery and incredibly magical atmosphere make this game one of the most stunning PS2 game to date. The visual is something that you have to see to believe. You can't help but be impressed by what the PS2 can still do even though it's already considered old. One thing worth mentioning is the way they mess with the sense of size in this one. Not only that you can see something is big but the way they manipulate the screen, you can actually 'feel' the size that that thing really is big. The graphics however aren't without it's flaws, like sometimes enemies can be seen sticking out it's weapons from a wall or how the screen tends to flicker once in a while.
Audio - Boasting great score and sound effects. The sounds are top notched, the score is good which really matches the game's settings. Just by listening to the soundtrack you'll know that this game is of epic proportions.
Replay Value - This game has tons of unlockables including bonus modes and costumes and some other stuff. The game is pretty long as well being almost twice as long as the first one. With such great gameplay and visual you'll have a great time playing the same game lots of times even without all these unlockables.
Overall - It's a great feeling knowing that the PS2 still has 'fuel' in it and this game is the perfect example. This is how a sequel should be, adding new elements while retaining the old elements, this way you'll know that you're playing a sequel rather than a game with the same title but plays entirely like another game which some other sequels always do. Although this game has some flaws and some even reported bugs but these are only slight setbacks when compared to the overall experience. Stunning visuals and exciting gameplay makes this a must have for all PS2 owners(adults seeing this game has an M rating).
