The final chapter of Kratos' brutal saga of loss and vengeance. The game begins right where the 2nd one left off, with Kratos on Gaias shoulder up to Olympus, to kill the remainder of his family, for forcing him to kill his family. (Exactly). There will be blood, lots and lots of blood.

Firstly, God of War 3 is one of the best looking games on the PS3, up there with Uncharted 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4. GOW 3 manages to get a unprecedented scale of epic proportions, (Kronos, one of the bosses, is the size of the Empire State Building), and incredibly detailed environments and characters. Subtle face twitches, flexing of muscles and flickering of candles are all proof of Sony Santa Monica's attention to detail.
The voice acting is also great, with a good cast (most notably, Rip Torn as Hephaestus), but it is hampered by mediocre script. It feels like 80% of dialogue is Kratos talking about wanting about revenge and yelling angrily. But, the dialogue does do a decent job of moving the story along.
Speaking of the story, some people might be disappointed. It doesnt really pick up until the second half of the game, and Kratos shows no emotion other than anger the ENTIRE game. Besides that , the characters do feel real and believable. You feel genuine sympathy for Hephaestus, a "man" whose child was torn from him, and Zeus is a genuine a**hole.
Finally, the weapons. There are 4 weapons, but besides the cestus ( a brawling weapon), the other 3 are basically variants of sword-on-a-chain. Because of this, the cestus steals the show.Its a great room-clearing weapon that throws enemies across the screen.
