great in short doses

now this game has had many things said about it, most of them not all that great. and i will admit it does have many, many flaws. but there are a few things about it that make it worthwhile, and i am going to focus on those things. first, and this is big, it does have the authentic roars for each monster. they did a great jobs giving each monster its signature roar that all Godzilla fans know. second, it has a huge selection of monsters. almost all of the main toho monsters made it into the game. another monster related plus for this game is the monster skins. when you look at Godzilla's skin you can really see the texture of his reptilian skin. next, the story mode is really short, consisting of only 18-20 battles and no free-roam, but they did a really nice job of giving you almost total control of how the story progresses. you usually get 2-4 choices of where to go next. the story mode also features the 4 different monster factions. they did a great job with this feature. if you attack a monster of one faction, your alliance with that faction will drop. your actions directly impact your alliance with each faction. i think the best example of this is this: destroy buildings and the GDF (Global Defense Force) faction will be more likely to attack you, but the mutant faction will be less likely to attack you. now when playing multiplayer, it gets really hard to keep track of who is where (this also applies to playing with 2 or 3 computers), but it is still really fun for a short period of time. so in my opinion, this game is great as long as you don't play for too long or it will get boring.
